Hi all,
I thought i would take the chance to voice my opinions about bsunion. Don't worry I'm not here to bash, rather to give constructive criticism that hopefully you take into consideration.
I love that the bsunion holds events and that these are opportunities for Bruneians everywhere to get together. Raya was quite cool, maybe a tad expensive but i can see why it would be. However, i think the aims should be shifted more towards helping existing societies and creating new societies.
Glazing over the constitution it doesn't seem that there is any one position to which this objective is given to. Perhaps the constitution should be changed..?
A lot of the time, Bruneian students in a uni find each other only upon arrival in the uni and not beforehand, and without knowledge of the fact the bsunion is there to help should they want to create a society. What i propose is more communication between the union committee members and ordinary members about what the bsunion can do for them in this regard. I understand that this would be stated in the bsunion meeting held in Brunei, but i think this should be emphasized further. At the meetings only existing societies were able to get their members informed, leaving students going to other unis without a student body to look up to in their unis.
I think that holding activities for Bruneian students shouldn't be your prime focus, and actually promoting the creation and running of societies should be just as important.
In relation to this point is the support that should be given to existing Bruneian societies. This also doesn't seem to be under any one in particular and i think this is important for new societies that don't know their own potentials.
Thanks for reading, keep up the good work!
